Lowering My Car

Alright, I want to lower my car once my tax reutrn comes in. I want the car to be LOW. I'm later going to get 17" Motegi MR7s in white (I know old but I like them) and I want to be tucking the rims a bit. However I don't want handling to be shitty.

I was thinking using Neuspeed Race springs to lower it or should I get a set of Ground Control Coil Overs?!?

Help me out!

Well if you want really low you need to have the ability to change the ride height, example, coilovers.

The problem with this is you want the best of both worlds, you want it low but you don't want you handling sacrificed. At some point your handling is going to be affected by the drop of your car so at that time you will need to reevaluate your setup or take steps to correct the problems. (bouncy ride, poor responsiveness, horrible negative camber, horrible tire wear, blown stock shocks)

You also need to worry about rubbing when running a 17" rim, so that needs to be considered also.

Overall, if you want the adjustment (the ability to go low and tuck), you are going to have to get coilovers. Now you need to decide if you want true coilovers of sleeves.

i suggest true coilovers rather than just sleeves. you'll get a much better ride that way.

I've decided to go with springs for 2 reasons:
1. I can't afford coil overs (good ones anyways)
2. I most likely won't make use of the coil overs

So now I need to decide on a set of springs. I'd like to go with a 2.5" drop and the only springs I found offering that are Sprint and Eibach's Road Race kit. Which one is a better buy?

dont want to sound rude, but if you go with either of the springs you've mentioned, would you have the money to replace your stock shocks in 6 months to 12 months time? reason being the lower you go on stock shocks the faster they die. so you decide.

H&R race is another choice, though they listed at 2.25", they tend to settle after a short period.

In the fall of this year I plan to upgrade my suspension (shock, bushings, sway and tie bars, etc.). Right now I'd like to get ride of my 4X4 stance. Also I need the stiffer springs to better handle the power of the new engine being swaped.

So out of the 2 spring kits above which is best?

eibach would be the better choice over sprint springs, consider H & R springs too

I don't really have any experience or know anyone that has Sprint springs, but I know that Eibach makes good quality springs.

If I were you I would wait until fall when you redo your whole suspension (ie. shocks, sway bars. etc.) that you will only have to pay the labour charge once to install everything.

Just my 2 cents.

With the exception of major engine work ie: swaps and build ups. I do every DYI. Plus I have friends who are professional mechanics, so I just need to contact them and we'll do the work on a saturday with almost no labour involved
