okay here's the question.


lowering with neuspeed sports on my 00 coupe

i got 17's on my car. ANY PROBLEMS????????? HELP!!!!

dunno offset of the rim. i offset is very important, can someone tell me a quick and easy way to measure it?

The offset should be stamped on the inside of the rim. 215's with those springs will probably rub. Do a search for offset. I can't rememeber what the optimal offset is for an 6th gen Civic.

different springs wont stop rubbing unless u get like h&r oe sports cause they dont really lower ur car, maybe .25 inch but they stiffen it up quite a bit, those tires are wide, unless u have like a 42+ offset u will prolly rub, but even then i think u will rub, meh u can always try and roll ur fenders or get different rims/tires or just dont lower your car

i got eibach pro kit and the drop is awesome, not too low.... and they ride more comfortaable than stock..... but i have 16x7 205/45/16 and i noticed rubbing when i went through a sweeping corner and the suspension damn near bottomed out

is a 16" rim with 205/45/16 the same diameter as a 17" rim with 215/40/17 ?

I was going to say...I have a recommendation on different size rims
IMO civics shouldn't have anything larger than 16" on them.

Just about. A 45 series tire on a 16 is actually farther from stock diameter or circumference than a 40 series on a 17. Both are slightly, and i mean barely at all, different from stock rolling circumference. I can't remember if its larger or smaller though. There's a chart posted somewhere on the borad here explaining all of the different series tires on different size rims and how they affect your speedometer reading and mileage, etc..The two mentioned above are the closest you can get to stock for each size rim.

Its the width of the tire and the offset that's gonna make you rub.

I've heard 40 - 45 is optimal. I'm getting a 43 offset 17" on my EK soon and I have H&R Sports. The larger the offset, the closer the wheel gets to the inside of the wheel well.

The proper way to do 17's on a Civic is 40 offset rims with 205/40/17 tires. I have this with H&R Sports and the only way I can make the car rub is to make a u-turn with the wheels locked at the traction limit.

If you can't get a 40 offset in the wheel you want, I guess it would be better to have a larger one. That way you could use spacers to push the wheel out if rubbing occurred.
