Lowering
 

Any advise on lowering? :o :confused:

Make sure if you have aftermarket tires and rims that you have the correct offset...

Make sure if you drop more than 2 inches you get a camber kit...

Don't cut stock springs, effect is nice but ride is ****...

Try and save for new shocks too to avoid being to "bouncy"

Coil overs are nice but the cheaper ones have problems with the rings seizing...

If you don't know what you are doing PAY someone to install them..

Ask other club members with your ride about their experiences...

I don't think any other club members got my ride. I just got this one. It's my second Civic and I've never had one lowered before. Basically, I'm lookin for info on the best places to go for installations, and the best ones to have installed (at a down to earth price).

Everything's stock (so far).

considering I've had it less than a week, the budget is a little tight right now... but I'm curious about price ranges for the near future.

You don't care about factory warranty...

Cause your gonna invalidate it...

Honda will give you grief if you have problems later...

I asked them before I cut the deal... they said it would be fine.

...then again, call me stupid, but I don't care too much about the factory warranty. I've been working on all different types of cars for years, and Honda's have proven to be one of the best when it comes to quality, performance and reliablity.

I'm not too worried.

I'd avoid coilovers all together. I just found out that my Neuspeed/Bilstein coilovers are completely seized up. And these arent the cheap ones! IMO, the winters up here with all the salt are just too much for coilovers. The threads get all rusted and clogged with salt/dirt way too easily.

So what are you gonna do in the winter time then???

Just wondering why you need aftermarket tires and rims? I don't see how they relate to lowering. I've seen nice dropped cars on stock steelies.

Ground control coilovers and kyb agx struts

Actually my car is stuck in winter mode right now. The shop says they can take off the coilovers, clean them and put them back on but that will take about 3 hrs labour and $200-$250! I'm still debating on whether or not it's worth it. The wheel gap is really bugging me though!

The key word here is "IF"....

Wrong offset equals rubbage....:shooter:

I don't see how this invalidates your warranty.....logically it doesn't make sense....This I find is a favorite Honda stance until you push them.
I know Honda installs it then it definitely under warranty.

Oh, thought you were sayin aftermarket rims are required for lowering. :wink:
