low profiles how low?

is 205/40/17 as low a profile i could have mounted on a 17 inch rim?

imported_italstallion 04-Jun-2006 02:10 AM

ive seen a 215/35/17 before

chris_si98 04-Jun-2006 03:09 AM

LT285/10/18

thats what im ridin on.

imported_t_dot_SiR 04-Jun-2006 04:15 AM

seriously, get rid of the 17's... try to gop 16's on 45 or 50 or 15's on 50 or 55... (depending how low you lowered your car)

17 is too huge for any sort of civic/crx... and when tires are that low (40 or below), you're asking for trouble when it comes to potholes or crappy cracking roads around gta, or going onto ugly ramps or bumps... chances of dent rims or crack, etc can happen... and low pro tires doesn't feel that comfy IMO

jsut a 2cents, if you can, try selling off your 17's

good luck...

^not if you have 7thgens because the wheel gap is big

imported_t_dot_SiR 05-Jun-2006 01:34 AM

yes, not if its the 7+th gen...

but since his profile states he's driving a rex... the big rims won't go too well with it... i love the rex in 15's..... with some 50s...

205/40/16 for 16's
205/40/17 is the lowest it gets for 17 and 215/35/18 for 18's.

195/45/15 is smallest 15's and thats an odd size with not alot of options

imported_Moe_Mentum 05-Jun-2006 11:22 AM

I used to have 35 on 17's and it was fine... but right now I am running 40's on 17's

I ahve 17s on my 99 sedan and I think it looks fine.

imported_Christof 06-Jun-2006 01:48 PM

I use a 205\45\16, I find it works fine
