Loud Squeak now...

You know that sound of having wet shoes and then walking into a store and that lovely sweaking noise? Take that noise and make it louder.. that is the new noise my car is making in the front driver side wheel well.. its driving me nuts.. The same cv joint has gone as well, but now its making this squeaking.. some people say it might be the shock or bearings, the bushings, the balljoints, everything!! It happens whenever there is even the smallest bump and then happens when turning the wheels as well. It just started making this god awful noise today..

dx dont have swaybars... replace the axle, then testdrive it again..seeing as the cv joint is pooched anyway... Then if its still noisy then troubleshoot it... bounce the front end, listen, jack the car up, spin the wheel, pull on the top of the tire while its on the ground to check the ball joints ect...

Im taking it into honda to get the axel and cv changed next tuesday, but it doesnt sound like a cvaxel noise... But no harm in waiting. The guy at honda said he would try to find what it is if it still does it after he replaces the cv joint. Maybe its the boot, maybe it really is torn and rubbing or something, but i doubt it, coz its a nonstop over every small bump and when people get in the car and when i turn the wheels.

Pulovr, its not lowered at all, stock height with some sexy 13" steelies.

ball joints

i posted a similar question recently http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...ghlight=phokus

my car was making an awful noise like a squeeking metal kind of rubber sound on the driver side whenever i turned my wheel braked or even pushed down on the driver side hood.. i was not sure what it was either and there were conflicting opinions, some said it may have been the bushings were not lubed properly others said it may have been the ball joint.

i think it may be the ball joint.

because honda ball joints are sealed without a nipple to lube them once they dry out they need to be replaced. so, i had them replaced and everything is fine now.

Well... the guys at honda here replaced the axel today and they say that it is the upper right control arm and want to charge me 180 to fix it... but im not deaf, its coming from the driver side, why would they want to replace **** on the passanger side?! He just said sound travels.. but everyone who has looked at it so far has said its probably a ball joint. He did say that the control arm in the passanger side had alot of play in it, but the driver side did not. Is he just making me replace this that I dont have to? I just want this damn sqweak to go away!!!!!

well I would greese up the ball joints first, and see if that helps... Maybe go to Barrie Honda and ask what they think (im assuming you took it to Orillia Honda)
