loss of power at high revs..

hi i got a 93 lx...and i was just wondering why when i go past 6000 rpm i feel like i get a sudden power loss in my car...is there are rev limiter at that point or something?? cause my redline is supposedly at 6800.. do u think i just need a tune up? or is it a rev limiter... or something else? suggestions?

if it doesn't go past 6000rpm and just stays there and bounces back and forth then its a rev limiter, but it should usually be at 6800rpm considering ur car is stock, i dont have enough knoledge to give you any other advice

because your cams were probably not meant to make power above 6000rpm, being an lx they didn't expect someone to push it that high, more of a daily driver, family car or w/e so people would be driving it normaly, which means it needed to make power at normal rpm ranges

yea but my redline is supposed to be at 6800...

red lining the grocery getter ftw!!!!!

it's either limiter, or your engine is in dire need of a tune up, or your engine cant make power that high. or all 3?

why not toss in a solid engine that's meant to make some power rather than sub 100hp?
