Take a look at the For Sale sections dude...and Teknotik's website.

if you want a lot more torque get an h22... b16 has lots less torque and b18c is basically the same for torque

LEITNER 31-Jul-2005 08:57 AM

why do you guys still recommend h22 swaps because of torque? i have watched h22's get the asses handed to them by b16's. h22 is not all that. if it was they would be as common as a b series swap. and the h22 is a garbage engine.

Now now Steve :)

The H22 is not garbage...it is like caring for a woman...you give it lots of TLC and it will be yours forever. Treat it wrong and it will give you problems. Never had a problem with my motor, but its maintained well, and that costs $$$. H22 is not for those who only want to just drop it in and do oil changes.

I have 130 K on the motor (still runs like new), but I've spent to keep it that way. Already done 2 valve adjustments, plugs once (will be doing cap, rotor, plugs, wires when I do timing belt and waterpump in the next month.) Have had all the crap cleaned out of it twice (Honda calls the emission service, cleans throttle, and carbon out, hence no oil burning for me) Oil changes every 5,000 - 6,000 km, and run synthetic only.

Come to think of it, I've probably spent more maintaining suspension and brakes.

Back on topic, talk to Eric (Preludeking) of Teknotik, he will definately be able to help you. You will not get more torque out of those two engines than your B18B. You'd be better off to boost the B18B.

Teknotik for sure!

Steve.... H22As are still recommended swaps cuz they f33l mAd fa5t y0! The midrange torque that carries the engine into VTEC, then when the VTEC kicks in.... the car really pulls very very hard from pretty much a standing start. So the car is somewhat quick and fun to drive. No one said it was the fastest, but for a stock engine it's very nice. I'd personally still rather have a stock ITR engine if I was swapping.

h22a's arent all that bad, mostly when beaten on they cause problems... a buddy of mine has one in his 95 accord and he beats on a few b16s himself.. as for more power, find urself a b16 head and some pistons and build urself a lsvtec, if not boost that motor, they make awsome power mildly built..or a good ol h22..there pretty cheap these days

Chigga1 01-Aug-2005 12:22 PM

bseries are so expensive just b/c everyone else and there Grandma's want one...

if you look at the Sr20 swaps, there mad Cheap!!
its all personal preference, but i honestly think the Kseries motors are going to kick into high gear with the EG' EK models
