Looking for Axles...need recommendations
My driver side axle is starting to go bad. I want to replace the pair, since the car is a 95, I might as well change both of them. I don't want rebuilt after all the horror stories I've heard. Just wondering what you guys have had experience with.
Looking for a new set, not rebuilt as stated above but something that I know will last. Don't need anything super fancy, just an OE replacement, if not better.
Thanks for any replies.

I'm not venturing into the world of rebuilt. Most of them just rebuild the shaft and not the cv joint. They are prone to failure. Trust me, i did my research. People with first hand experience and from various readings on H-T and T-I.net.
The range of quality for rebuilt varies from very good to just **** poor. The standards are pretty low when it comes to the remanufacturing process. If i can't find a set of Aftermerket NEW ones by a reputable manufacturer, i'm just gonna venture into OEM ones. I'll look more on H-T and T-I.
Thanks.

also, that's why a bunch of the rebuilt ones have such extensive warranties. They are cheap for the manufacturer to rebuild so straight over the counter exchanges are permitted for the lesser quality ones such as what NAPA sells.
Although it would be replaced for free, the labour charges would still be there as well as the inconvenience.

Never had a problem with any OE replacements from the major part stores, I would decide based on price and warranty.
I just can't justify the cost for aftermarket for a stock car.

I've never tried their axles though.
I know people with 300+whp turbo setups using rebuilt axles. Can't beat rebuilt ones for $90 a peice....where i get them the come with a lifetime warranty...no questions asked.

because ENJO are essentialy a stock shaft with a heavy duty boot and they come with a free break warranty.
I stand by my original point that for the average car stock replacements are fine. Stay away from new ones from Honda unless you enjoy spending boatloads of money.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't think anybody is doubting newman. I just prefer new axles. I talked with my buddy at Honda, he's confident he can hook me up for a really decent price. I'm gonna pay him a visit tomorrow and if all goes well i'll pick it up asap. If that fails, i'll look into a set of 2000/01 Used axles and just change the boots and repack the grease before I put em in.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

You need to understand that there are different standards when it comes to remanufacturing different parts. Ball joints are sealed units which have minimal parts to rework. And I purchased a NEW aftermarket unit. I'm not even sure if aftermarket remanufactured pieces are available do to the fact that Honda ball joints are not servicable. Like i said, the quality of remanufactured axles are not as satisfactory as other parts. Not saying ALL of them are crap, I just don't want to take any chances. Besides, I just asked for opinions. I am thankful for all of those that are given but my mind is set on a new Honda piece.
Thanks.
Thanks.
