long term effects of lowering springs

im sure this has been discussed before but i searched and couldnt find anythin

ive got a 2000 si and am thinkin about installing eibach prokit...
(1.5' drop front/ 1.3' drop rear)

just wondering how long i can ride on my stock shocks before im gonna need to buy new ones...

and.. is the camber gonna cause my tires to be worn excessively more than stock

besides this.. are there any more problems in the future that could result from lowerin my car??

thanx

thats not a lot of drop so you wont need a camber kit from what i know...
springs with stock shocks should last longer with coilover sleeves and stock shocks but if u can do it all at once so u pay labour once or if u install them urself use the stock ones till they blow if money is a problem...
but uhh kyb-agx or koni yellows with springs are a good setup

camber wear will not be very noticable if the alignemt is set up right...

As far as shocks go, its compleatley unpredictable not knowing the history of the car... age, km, abuse, ect... if it was driven solo for its whole life chances are they will last allot longer than if the back seat 2nd for a school bus everyday... rough roads spirited driving will also contribute to a shocks life...

if labour aint a problem the use the stock shocks until u blow them the slap on some nice aftermarkets like the ones suggested above....
kyb-gr2
kyb-agx
koni reds
tokico illuminas
tokico blues
koni yellows
i put them in descending order from cheapest to most exp. i tink its right so u have a good selection..depends on how much money u wana spend right

just a quick edit illuminas are better than the blues so if its in in descending order from cheapest to most exp. it would be:

kyb-gr2 (non adj)
tokico blues (non adj)
koni reds (semi adj but PITA)
kyb-agx (adj)
tokico illuminas (adj)
koni yellows (adj)

I would consider that to be order of quality as well as price

next in line??? I'd put it above.... and here's why...

with the Koni's you get adjustable but no easy to remember or see settings it's a matter of counting clicks... witht he tokico's you get nice 5 different settings that cover the whole range....

well you'll say there is more settings with the Koni's and your right but would you really feel a difference from one setting to the next one stiffer or softer... probably not you probably have to adjust them a few settings in either direction to notice it... so with that said the tokicos have 5 settings that are different enough you can easily tell them apart.

on koni's plus side they do have stiffer damping then the tokicos... (remember rebound is whats adjustable on these)

I like simple and easy to remember things thats why I'm getting Tokicos

but hey it's a matter of personal preference I guess if your the type that sets and doesn't want to touch them again konis would be great.... but for people like me that hit an autocross twice a weekend, all that changing of settings creates a need to have something thats easy to check.

this is over course my own personal view and I know others will not share it.

another andvantage to the koni yellows is that they have those perches that allow you to change the ride height.... which for someone like me with race springs is a good thing to balance the lower drivers side wheel well....

not sure if the tociko illunima's also have that feature or not though

Interesting point of veiw, and i will not argue that one bit Cuz I really like Tokico products, but i just figured Koni had the adj market owned... comes down to personal differences i guess...

I have the Blues hp, im more than satisfyed with my purchace, good ride and cuz i have no need to fawk with things once its set, hence the reason I want to go to a spring with them instead of the coilover sleeves...
