Location of Transmission fluid dipstick on a B16

Location of Transmission fluid dipstick on a B16

Posting for a friend, he can't seem to find his dipstick for the transmission fluid. He has a B16A1 in an 88 civic, if anyone knows where the dipstick is located please post.

Unless it's an automatic I believe it doesn't have a dipstick. On standard tranny you have to remove the check level bolt on the side of the tranny to check your fluid.

My friend wants to know if the check level bolt is the same bolt as the bolt to drain the fluid?
if not where is it?

nope, the check bolt should be a few inches higher than the drain bolt, and the level of the MTX fliud should be just at the bolt, ie a bit drips maybe when opened.
