Krank Vent Mini System
has anyone ever used the krank vent mini system by ET performance?
I ordered one (well its actually 2 in the system) to use on a boosted built b16 crx i just finished building for someone.

This is used in conjunction with the factory oil separator box to eliminate the pcv valve and the need for an aftermarket catch can.

I just did some research and they appear to be beefed up check valves and nothing more. Read http://www.et-performance.com/turbo_install.html. In a boosted application the pressure caused by the turbo will close the valve not allowing the block to breath so only under vacume are they effective. Am I missing something here???

Hi everyone,
Just to clarify a few things, I used these before I ever even had a store and swore by it even then.
I've always had a problem with my PCV's letting boost get into the crankcase which was pressurizing my crankcase more than it would just from windage and sepage past my rings. After installing the two Krank Vent units, there was almost no oil left in my turbine or intake manifold.
These are as you had pointed out, beefed up check valves. They are meant to last a lifetime and can be used on any make and model. In the long run of a lifetime, it would actually pay for itself by just transferring from one car to another.
You route one from the crankcase to the intake manifold and the other one goes from the crankcase breather to either pre-turbine or can be left on just a filter/oil catch can without any vaccum source.
On the S2000's, we have seen upwards of 20whp on a high HP engine from just this unit.

I believe the system works like this...When under vacuum it works as a regular pcv would, but under boost the one valve closes and opens the other one (going to the turbo inlet), still allowing the crankcase pressure to be relieved.
I got this for $130 US shipped.

That is 100% exactly how it works. It only opens the valve that would actually relieve pressure from the crankcase without introducing any in.
BTW, my supply comes in again tomorrow and your package will be out by tomorrow as well.
