kosei ts k1 racing...4.3kg .....
hi boys ..... is it worth to buy some expensive 15 rims ? somebody tell me that if the rims are so light (4.3kg)3 kg lighter than my stock crx vtec 14 ... i will have some performances gains....like lighter pulleys ...is it true ? my stock tyres are 195 60 14 ? if i put 195 50 15 the final drive will be shorter ? so which rims tyres numbers are better for acceleration ?

doesn't a smaller overall diameter throw off the speedo?
I have 16inch rims with 45 sidewall over the stock 15 with 65 sidewall. I find that the acceleration seems a lot better over the stock. But then again the smaller overall diameter could be the reason.
I think fact that it's lighter, it takes less effort for the engine to spin the wheel therefore you get better acceleration. Kinda the same concept of lighter pulleys and flywheels. It reduces the parasitic power loss.
bbarbulo knows his stuff so I could be wrong.

your speedo will underestimate your actual speed with a smaller diameter tire cuz the speed sensor works out of the tranny, and the tranny will be spinning faster for any given speed
