Koni Reds

Hey,
Just wondering if you guys install the Koni Reds right away (from factory) without adjusting it OR do you guys adjust it first then install?

Thanks,
Michael.

Email Koni and ask them what they are set at out of the box. I have mine on the softest of the 3 settings. I found the stiffest too rough for the crappy Hamlton roads I drive on.

Koni has always responded to the emails I have sent them. Maybe just wait for a reply. A person with experience with the Reds should be able to determine where they are set simply by following the adjustment instructions that come with them. Turn them one way for stiff, the other for soft.

konis are sent out with them preset to the softest setting becuase it is recommended you drive it for a while at the softest setting before stiffening the setting to let them break in.

Which ones are the ones you can adjust without removing the shock?

The Yellows, but the Reds can be adjusted while still on the car by a special tool sold on Ebay. I have one, but I have yet to try it.

np.

yellows are adjusted on the top of the strut under the hood/in the trunk. reds are no longer made tho and have been replaced with the yellows.

Alrite, picked up a set of Koni Reds.

I want to know what settings you guys have them on?

And how's the ride quality on that setting?

BTW, 0 Position is the factory setting and is the softest setting.

THX.

well, keep them on softest for about 1000km to let them break in, afterwards, put the m to about 20%. i have yellows, and not reds, but a little stiffer then the softest setting is a good ride with still enough handling performance.

my special reds are on the stiffest according to my mechanic. it gets a bit bumpy but i love it. poor people in the back seat because i see them bouncing around like ***** with the polyurethane bushings and the reds . but my mechanic put them on the stiffest when he installed it so i didn't have that 1000km break in. does it really matter that much? yellows are pricy as hell.
