What exactly do pillow-ball mounts do except provide a sturdy top shock mount for the coilover?

Two things actually:
The first is zero vertical flex in the upper shock mount bushing(as its solid) which increases the response time of the shock absorber.

The second is that it eliminates the binding and friction caused by lateral bushing flex(sideways) as the suspension goes through its range of motion, allowing for freer suspension movement and again, more direct reponse from the shock absorber.

Maybe someone else can chime in here on the ride quality on the street of a car equipped with pillow ball mounts.

thanks...thats what i was wondering. Might as well get them. Buddy Club says it would increase response but the neg it will make you feel more bumps, etc in the road on a street car.

Ordered Buddy Club Racing-Spec, 10K/8K which is about 565F/450R, big thanks to John at Option for answering my questions about those, can't wait to pick'em up and stare at them until the snow comes and goes

decided to go Buddy Club racing-spec after all due to reading a few positive reviews, its complete unit and decided to try it out over the Koin/GC

The racing-spec is some serious hardware, i was impressed with it when first looking at it and trying to decide N+ or racing-spec
