Koni Durability

Thinking of buying some used Koni Yellows, but was wondering if they last as long as Koni claims (a lifetime warranty!)

well no... it just means they'll rebuild them for you. anything that moves will wear out eventually.

No, I don't expect them to last 25 years. But 5 would be nice.

yeah, 5 is doable easily. my stock ones survived 3 years on various lowering springs... and they still got lots of life left in them!

yeah, I seen one set start leaking as we were doing a spring swap. the guy just put them back on the car though... dunno what ever happened to them later.

I have no direct experience with Illuminas, though at the price point they are at now, they are a STEAL. I'd also go with Illuminas for the price.

What does a leaky shock look like? I'd really like to know!

there is oil seeping from around the seal where the shock rod goes into the shock body.

I saw these shocks once...actually I think they were on my Saturn, but I can't remember... the shock rods were all pitted really badly and there was oil everywhere. ugh, it was sooo nasty. It was my first order of business to purchase new shocks for that poor, neglected car.

koni, kyb, tokico....

all about the same build quality

I slightly biased towards KYBs because i haven't heard or met anyone with leaky AGXs...
