Knocking noises when making a turn at 50km/h+

Hi guys,

I recently noticed the existence of what seems like knocking noises whenever I make a turn at 50km/h or over (eg. when I am on the ramp to highway), regardless of whether I was accelerating during the turn.

The sound goes something like this: knock, knock, knock, knock, knock (with perhaps a 0.5 second in between each knock) until the turn is complete.

The sound seems to be coming from the rear lower part of the car.

Does anyone know what is causing this?

Thanks!

Sounds like your CV joint, check to see if the rubber boot is ripped.

hrmmm...i dunno about the boot...i ripped mine going through a car wash and all i noticed was a bunch of grease caked on the inside of the rim :S
it was a quick cheap fix

does it make the noise when you're turning to the left or right or both?
if it makes the noise while turning one direction then it may very well be a bearing
to check that, firmly grap the top of the wheel with both hands and give it a pull and push...if there is alot of play then a bearing may be the cause

If you get it repaired in time you cool, but if it stays ripped for a while and all the grease comes out, it will start to knock.

If it's knocking, it's toast.
