K&N filter

I have an intake pipe, but I wanna change the filter. I'm thinking of using the K&N one. How much do they cost?

K&N is worth the money IMO, crappy tire sells the square ones for the OEM filter box for around 55$ bux (i think), the cone ones should be about the same price

Question

I have not made any modifications to my car, except cosmetic, but I have been interested in purchasing a K&N filter for my civic. 1. Does it really increase HP in the car or do I have to get something else as well?

I just recently got a K&N cone filter. It cost me around $70, and was well worth it. I find that although there may not be a substantial power increase, on really hot/humid days, my car is less sluggish off the line. The fact that they are washable is an added bonus.

Got a K&N filter for my stock air box.
didn't really notice any difference in performance (didn't expect to see any actually)

but the engine kinda growls more after 3000rpm.
got it for about $70 at CT

In other words, my life will not come to an end if I don't have one installed.

i have a k&n cone filter.... i'm not sure if its any better than the other aftermarket filters performance wise.... but the fact you can wash and re use it makes the higher price tag well worth it
