Just installed Turbo into B18

What's goen on guys...long time no see

We just turboed my buddies integra(b18) and the question is...

Everything seems fine, but the only problem is when we put the vac line into the nipple coming off the external wastegate the vacume pressure drops to zero, but when we take it off and cap it the vac pressure goes up to 20. We don't know really what's going on with it, maby it's suppose to be at 0 or what. We haven't drove the car yet just to be safe. The BOV is working properly as it should turbo is fine all vacume lines are hooked up properly, but it doesn't seem like the turbo is spooling. Also, no boost leaks anywhere.

B, I sent ya a PM.

Later guys....

what kind of wastegate?
Which nipple on the wastegate are you putting the vacuum line on? top? bottom?

Younes Si 06-Sep-2007 01:27 PM

XS Power (eBay junk FTW!)

The vac line is put up on the top.

Hey andrew, do you know where to tap in for the boost gauge as well?

Thanks

i'd take it apart and check to see if the diaphram is torn.

You can tap the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line for your boost guage.

try and put it on the side port instead of the top i have the same wastegate and i have no issues that way ...

legacy gate use the side port for normal boost control, and upper and side ports for EBC.

Can you post some pics, esspecially of the vac lines.
for boost gauge i used a T inline with my FPR as well, try that.

brianmcgaugh 06-Sep-2007 08:57 PM

your vac at idle should be ~-20in/hg, 0 would be full throttle (N/A)
Almost sounds like your taking the vac source away from the map sensor somehow... again post pics

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your help. We fixed everything and the car pulls HARD!! at 6psi. Boost gauge is working properly all vac lines are good no boost leaks.

He's still no match for me, lol. I am only running 20+ psi, i'll let you guys guess when the second digit is...

Thanks once again for your input guys.

Later

brianmcgaugh 08-Sep-2007 03:41 AM

Younes Si 13-Sep-2007 01:30 PM
