Interchangeable A/C Brackets

Looked everywhere for this and I can't seem to find a definite answer. When doing a b16 swap in a D series 96-00 EK will a 99-00 SIR A/C Mount work?

I have read that you need a 96-97 Del Sol Vtec A/C mount or one from a CRV. But I have only read from two people that the 99-00 SIR one will work. Can anyone clarify?

i dont see why it wouldnt work.
b16 came in ek's stock on the sir model and the ac compressor is the same for all the models i believe so a bracket from an sir should work except you might have to get a sir ac belt since the position might be slightly off.

^^^ Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Just wierd because on all the Hybrid Honda sites I looked at none of them mentioned the use of an SIR bracket.

maybe it costs more for the sir bracket or something along those lines.

In my 96 EK I have the SiR AC bracket in there w/my B16.
I can assure you it works perfect.

Thanks man that's the re-issurance I was looking for. Did you have to change over to an SIR AC belt as well?

My swap came with the AC compressor, lines, AC bracket and tensionor/belt already in place. So I re-used the SiR belt that came with it.

Just as a follow up.. if I am currently using the AC bracket from the B-series swap I can just buy a B series condensor and it will bolt right up no problem right? Reason I am asking is I was going to go out and buy a new bracket but turns out my compressor might be going bad anyway so I mine as well get another. Will any B series compressor do? IE Integra\SIR\CRV?

I haven't had a chance to put my condesor back in yet.
So I don't know if the SiR AC compressor lines on the compressor actually line up w/ the stock d-series condensor.

I don't THINK an Integra compressor may work or the lines cuz the condensor is larger on those and mounts in front of the rad. Could be wrong?

CRV?? Don't those use a full size rad as well? The compressor may be diff cuz the CRV is a larger vehicle.

Call a parts place and compare part numbers w/ SiR and EX condensors/ compressors/ lines. If they are the same part #'s then you're in luck.
Hopefully that made sense.

Yeah I'll have to do that and see... I know Honda has different part #'s even if the part is the same. In the meantime if anyone else knows if an SIR compressor will work in a d series and line up correctly let us know.
