Intake problems

hey i just installed my short ram intake and i took my car for a drive aroudn the block but when im slowing down and not on the gas the RPM starts going higher and higher up to 5000RPM whats the problem?

did you connect everything ... including that tube from the valve cover to the intake tube??? is it on securely (all the connections snug?) was this a used intake? if so was the filter cleaned???

sounds like a clamp might be holding your throtle open or you forgot something.
contact me and I would be more than happy to take a look at.
my numbers are in my sig.

reset the ECU?

are you talking about clutch in or in neutral... at a stop your idle goes wonky? Is it erratic, or just keeps climbing? Does it do it if you shut it off and restart it... not even move... just sitting there with the engine at idle? Take intake off, watch the throttle plate when this happens, if it's shut, then your IACV is opening up and messing with air flow. This is not good... :p

one of the vaccum tubes might not be hooked up properly... my friend had a similar problem on a 4th gen from that

ok thsi what heppens i drive my car around and then when i stop and its still in gear and car isnt even movign and the RPM keep climbing higher and higher, also since my intake pipe is a little bigger than the intake manifold inlet pipe i had to put a belt aroudn so it fits nicely and i dont think its lettign any air out.

maybe the throttle body cable gets stuck or is contacting w/ something when pushing that hard
