Intake
#2
yesterday I did a run against a friend of mine who has a short-ram + full catback exhaust. I have an AEM cold air + axelback exhaust and I was pulling on him in 3rd after 4.5k rpm.
theres more pull all around with the cold air.. feel it mostly in the mid's.. not to mention its sounds sWEET!!!
try this with your intake.. get into 2nd and feather the pedal until you hit 4500 rpm. then mash it! you cant tell me its useless!? it sounds stock until you floor it... thas when the engine comes to life.. hehe

You need dryer hose to get more cold air into the engine bay...
Dryer hose directly pointed into the short ram WILL make a difference...
You could buy a CAI, but most of us are financially challenged...

sumaznguy.. a generic knock-off or ractive SRI will get the job done, but like sir-racer said I wouldnt settle for anything less than AEM. afterall you get what you pay for.
some guys will say avoid cold-air's becuase of the possibility of picking up water. I have a friend in a 1.6 who did this and toasted his engine; another friend with a prelude did the same but his engine is fine.. it just shut down on him. I tend to avoid large puddles when driving and haven't had any problems thus far.. mind you I've only had it for 2 months

INJEN
I would go with Injen, which is what I have. Its 2 stages, so for any reason you don't want or couln't have your cai, you can simply take off the cold air extensison and it becomes a short ram. Thats wat I had to do when I got my new bumper.

v-tec has a cool intake ... its a intercooler style intake ..... sits right in front of the rad .... so you get all the air going through the bottom grille directly into the intake .....he was selling it ... and it was a decent price ..... and it will fit your car ..... i would have purchased it ... but im so broke i'll have to resort to making a pipe that leads directly into me air box ... heck ... i can't even afford that!!!!
