Question Installing a new rad.....

Any info on this ? Any pre-cautions I should know about ?


Give me the basics, I kinda know what i'm doing but I wanna make sure I do everything right...



Its a dc2 rad going in my hatch..... (yes I have the mounts, my other one cracked when i went into the ditch)

dont drink the antifreeze, you might end up blind

drain most of it into a bucket so its not as messy, other than that its fairly straight forward, you might have a bit of trouble with the 4 screws that hold the fan shroud to the radiator, they may be rusted, but its nothign a bit of wd40 wont fix.. one fan connector, 2 bolts up top and 2 clamps and it will come out... you cant really mess it up

remember to bleed the system with the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing afterwards.

Steve, here you go


tie a chain around it and attach the other side of the chain to another car... then drive in opposite directions...

then take the new rad and stuff it in there...

that should help

take the old one out... bolt the new one in... fill the rad and resivoir and then bleed the system... top up after bleeding
