Installation of Input Shaft Bearing

Hi all,

I needed to get a new input shaft bearing installed in my 99 Civic. It's been an issue for a year, and in needs to get repaired. Does anyone here have any first hand experience who is willing to do the install for me? I would obviously be willing to pay a reasonable amount for the labour.

Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks

I'd rather one person just do the whole thing as I've never removed a tranny so I don't think I want to experiment now.

500 bucks to do the whole job

look for a used jdm trans and install that.i have gone threw 5 input bearings i just swap out the trans less work..

imported_chris_v2 17-Jun-2007 01:21 PM

its a hell of alot cheaper if you replace the bearing..

The 5 transmission you went through would of probably paid for like 10-20 bearings.

anyone wants some spam for dinner?

You'd be taking a chance with buying another used tranny, if yours is in good shape just have someone replace the bearing(s).

kwikb16a2 17-Jun-2007 03:47 PM

mines pooched too.......is it that hard to do?

imported_chris_v2 17-Jun-2007 06:57 PM

nothing is really considered hard if you know how to do it and have the right tools.

But I would rank this pretty hard i suppose for your average joe

I'm worried about getting another used tranny also, as I dont know what its been through, and can't tell if there is something wrong until I install it. I think mine is in good condition. Other than the bearing she shifts smooth, no grinds.
