Injectors
- How much CC are stock injectors?
- How big of injectors should i go on a b20 vtec? all motor. |
B series stock is 240.. alot of people go 310.. or even 440.. depends what your needs are
|
|
say if im just over 200whp what would you suggest, if you have to much CC flowing is it bad?
|
I think 440's would be fine.. you don't want to max out the injectors but at the same time you don't want to flow too much.. maybe even like 370's..
|
240cc = 180-190whp
310cc = 200-220whp 370cc = 220-280whp 440cc = 280-330whp 550cc = 330-380whp 660cc = 380-425whp 720cc = 425-475whp 880cc = 475-525whp 1000cc = 525-600whp. |

I found that whp list on honda-tech afterwards.. |
if yoru around 200 whp 310 cc shoudl be fine
but you might max them out at stock fuel pressure if you push to much power |
the way i see it, if you're going to spend the money on injectors, you might as well leave room for improvements. Meaning buy a bigger injector than you need for the moment. Tuning 440's isn't hard and aren't too big for n/a, but would still leave plenty of room if you up the compression/get bigger cams or headwork, spray or boost in the future. Instead of having to buy bigger injectors...again.
Just make sure to get Peak and Hold (low impedence) if you're car needs them or Saturated (high impedence) if thats what it takes. Instead of using p-n-h injectors in a car that needs saturated and having to wire up a resistor box. Doing so is very simple and doesn't take very long, but if you're gunna spend the money get ones that are plug and play (so to speak). |
Well my head is pretty much builts with skunk 2 internals, block is stock except for the pistons being notched. so 440's the way to go.
|
you can lose good power using to big of an injector, you shouldnt need more than 345s really.. the prelude oem ones are to find
|
thats not true. If you tune and scale down the fuel maps for the larger injectors then it will run exactly the same as smaller injectors and will leave room for more power. But if all you do is toss in some big injectors and expect it to run good, then you're in for a big surprise. It will run super rich and make less power.
I've tuned n/a cars with 440cc injectors with no problems, in fact, i'm planning on buying some 440s for my car asap, i've maxed my 240s out already. Its all in the tuning. You're idle won't suffer either. |
i got some 440's sitting in my trunk zeepos.
The injector tick will drive you crazy though lol |
i want saturated, not peak and hold and i'm looking for new injectors, so i know they all flow the same amount, you're taking a chance with used injectors. One or two might not flow as much as the others, and unless they've been sonically cleaned and flow tested/matched then its pretty much a gamble. And for what you would pay for cleaning/flow testing you could pretty much buy brand new injectors.
But thanks for the offer karl. |
lenny.. they have been cleaned and flow tested you homo. And I got the resistor pack to go with it.
10 mcChickens and its all yours! |
i am going to be running dsm 440cc for 7psi on my turbo set-up for my b18c1... should be fine... just need to pick them up...
|
hey, can anything bad come out of having injectors that are bigger than u need? like i'm boosting and guesin that whp would be 200 or under, not lookin for any crazy power(at the moment), so if i had 440CC DSM injectors, would this make any difference from having 310 or 370?
