Im grabbing coilovers tomorrow!!

what do u guys think about dropzone coilovers? ever heard of them, any bad rep on them. what do u guys think about these coilovers.
p.s when i pick them up what exactley is included in them, i don't want to walk away with parts missing. i know it's much different than lowering springs, is it just the spring, the thread and the gold ring? im not sure, does anyone know,

thanx for the responses if you decide to do so:thumbup:

how much did you pay for them.

My buddy got his at the beginning of the summer. There should be the springs, threaded sleeves w/two locking perches (the gold rings) on each sleeve, and one polyurethane upper mount for each coil.

I found that the Dropzone coilovers are a little bouncy. I would suggest that if its at all possible, get a set thats made for the Integra. The springs are made to handle more weight, and as a result, are not as bouncy.

Hope this helps.

IMO, for coilover sleeves, get Skunk2, Ground Control, or nothing. :D

imported_My Blue Si 28-Sep-2002 04:54 PM

**** if there bouncy then im not getting the, i want skunk 2's but there not cheap and im on a tight budget right now due to high insurance rates. I heard ground controls are exactley the same as dropzones. i hope there not that bad, these coilovers are for 88-2000 civic's only. im not sure if the integra springs will fit my struts unless you know someone that has done so. if not ill check up on that.
what do u think about R1's?

thanx alot for the help:thumbup:

IMO, Ground Controls are the best of the bunch. There's no way that Dropzone and GC are the same. If you're on a tight budget, just get a nice set of regular lowering springs.

ive got eibach springs and there garbage and bouncy and they gave my car a horrible drop, plus i need coilovers to adjust my car for winter.
p.s. how much do the ground controls go for?

How much is your car lowered now.

I'll have to agree with SW20_MR2. I don't much about coilovers, but i've never heard of the company that you bought from. i've heard nothing but good things about skunk2 and ground control coils. personally don't like coilovers....i would suggest drop it, and then leave it alone.

imported_My Blue Si 28-Sep-2002 08:38 PM

my eibachs springs are a 1.7 inch drop in the front and 1.6 inch in the back. i think im going to let these coilovers go and ill save up for some ground contols or skunk 2's.
thanx guys

I would suggest getting some H&R or Neuspeed Sport springs. I have never like Eibach springs. Expect to spend $520 for Skunk2's and about $600 for GC's.

Just a little side info. The Dropzone coilovers are not exactly the same as Ground Controls. However, the setup is the same. The Eibach GC's use a urethane upper mount. This takes a little of the bumpiness out of the ride, and allows for less compression of the strut when the car is lowered to a reasonable degree because the strut is not fully compressed against a hard aluminum upper mount (like with Ractive and old Skunk2 setups).

The only real problem that I've heard of with the actual Groun Control setup, is that the single locking perch jams and cannot be adjusted. I've had this happen to two friends, luckily, they were both under warranty when this was discovered.

I guess it's personal preference. There are coil-over setups that allow for a comfortable, stiff ride similar to that of springs and shocks. You just have to be willing to spend the money.

if u think the dropzone will give u something better then Eibach...then i think u ar totally wrong. may be u have the adjustable feat. but the ride quality will like ****..... and GC will beat the dropzone like nothing.....beware....u may loss the adjustable function after the winter sinc ethe dropzone is poorly made. this is my comment.

imported_My Blue Si 29-Sep-2002 01:30 PM

how are they poorly made? who told you so? im more likely not picking them up but i would like to know what makes you think that way. if i ever get lowering springs again there going to be h and r's but i need the coilovers for the winter b/c last winter my care barely made it threw and it wasn't even lowered. plus i didn't like the drop the eibachs gave my car. i just hate eibachs and ill never get them again.
anyway im probably going to save up adn get a better set, im looking towards the skunk 2's.

imported_sketch 29-Sep-2002 02:07 PM

NUESPEED RACE 2.25!!!! w/ KONI's
F$#K the winter!
just get a nice set of snow tires!!!
I was contemplating coilover suspension but my set up is so nice that i know i'll be pissed if i change over and if i do it would be real coilovers not just springs and sleeves

u have the rite to choose wht u like since it's ur $$. about it poorly made....the store who selling the "DROPZONE" share the opinion with me. since i want to pick a set as my roomate's b-day gift and they recommand me "NOT" they said i wont be able to get it adjustable after 1 winter and the ride will never like those lowering spring, its not comfortable to ride with it.
i had the H&R on my RSX and compare the Eibach on my Accord the H&R is stiff. but too stiff for me. just my 2 cents
