ummm...yeah if you wanna bounce all over the road and have a very poor all around ride which can also be unsafe. you need new shocks as well. if you're driving a 92 civic, your bushings are 99.9% likely gonna be seized on the rear shock unless they've been changed not too long ago which means you'll need new bushings put in. then you will need an alignment after you wait 2 weeks or so for the springs to settle. PLUS, if necessary, you will need a camber kit unless you don't mind changing tires every few months.

you can cut them too :p

dont forget about all the damages incurred while learning how to drive a lowered car and bottoming out :)

i'm running neuspeed race springs on stock shocks with 285 000 kms on them.... my ride is not bad.... a camber kit would be something i will get soon cause my front tires are not happy right now.... but you really dont need to change your stock shocks... not right away anyways.... some people go years on stock shocks lowered....

this debate is gonna happen again isnt it...lol...

IMO using stock shocks is a gamble, they may blow they may not...but if they do blow, and you dont do your own work your ganna have to pay for the whole installation all over again...and if you cant afford new shocks and they do blow then you are really SOL...riding on blowen shocks is dangerous, frustrateing, and ull look dumb bouncing all over the place, plus the chiropractor bills will add up quick:) just my2cents...

I have coilovers..Id recomend lowering springs...camber kit can be avoided with a proper toe alignment, and tire rotation at every oil change...

hahaha another stock shocks debate?? sure hahaha

i personally did my spring install myself so labour in putting new shocks is just an hour or so of my time.... its just a matter of getting some new shocks now

exactly, i do all my own work also so it wasnt a big deal when my shocks blew a week later...all the bolts were covered in anti seize so the install was a breeze...

I have a 95 civic dx and I want to lower my ride.
My budget is around $250.00, what shock and coilover should I get for the money? Thanks!

jj- get some H&r's u can get a set used for less than that or u can get brand new for 280
