alright guys...got an update.

bought the dizzy from zeeman hooked everything up and the idle was still high and the check engine light remained. We pulled the code and zeeman confirmed it was a TPS.. "code 7"

so last night we got the idle down to about 1000 and we noticed the car is still running rich like crazy..we could see exhaust coming up through the motor in between the valve cover and the block..right by the oil stick..

not to mention the valves still are bloody loud..almost a rattling noise from under the valve cover.

this morning i went to start it again.. the check engine light came off but the car idled back up to 2,500 again and stayed there..

so im left more confused now than i was..what the hell?

start basic.
Check the timing belt, to make sure the everything lines up right at TDC.
Check for vacuum leaks.
Do a valve adjustment for your noisy valvetrain.
Is the MAP sensor hooked up? Both the vacuum line and the electrical plug?
Is your vacuum routing proper for the rest of the systems (evap, FPR, charcoal canister)?
