idle problem- no airintake

i know all have this problem and i tried reading about it from previouse forums
and i guess i am just a dummy

Ok my engine reves up and down when idling after i put all parts together from installing a new clutch and finnaly realizing that i didnt hook up one cable - that is what was causing the short,

I dont have the air intake on yet so it cant be the air intake

what is it
is it the fuel pressure
please someone help i need my puppy running today

Ok first off what year/model car?

Only happened after you did the clutch? What "cable" did u leave disconnected?

Your discriptions are too vauge.....

its a 92 civic lx with a b16b
i noticed that when i press the gas just a little then it evens out but still revs too high by about 500 rmp

disconected the wires for the starter and the ground off the tranny

now when I was working on it I might have touched something - i dont know

imported_silver_devil79 16-May-2005 03:26 PM

is it true that it might be the voltage adjustmant on the throtle body sensor-

and if I do increase it it will help but will it make the engine rev higher when idling

ok fixed that problem- the back up battery fuse was out

see my new post for my new problem lol

possibly an air bubble in your coolant lines, bleed the cooling system again. if the problem persists, then unplug the IACV and see if that cures your ails.

well i think i solved it for now- it looks like it was a vacum leek

but I will still check out the air buble in the coolant just in case
