idle problem

while i'm driving at any speeds and put my car into neutral while slowing down my cars rpms drop to the point where it almost stalls. but it jumps back up to normal idle rpms when the car is stopped. anyone knows what the problem is i did a full tune-up and it didnt help. anyone have this problem before? i have a jdm b18b motor in a 92 eg with a s1 tranny. this started after i did a coolant flush i use honda antifreeze

any help would be great

thanks

Mine had the same problem. I cleaned and adjusted the IACV (idle air control valve) and problem went away.

Maybe u have a vacuum leak. Spray some air intake on top of the engine and on any on the vacuum hoses. U might find a leak. Clean the throttle body too and see if that helps. Was the idle air control really dirty when u cleaned it?

maybe your car is idling too low

did a full tune up include cap/rotor/plugs/wires?

I second that vacuum line too... cuz when you're stopping, the brake booster demands vacuum too, so if you have a leak, the idle will get WAY low.

yeah i did the full tune-up and the valve was really dirty when i cleaned it.

Did you reset your idle with the IACV unplugged? After you cleaned the IACV.

How would you do this? You talking about resetting the ECU with it unplugged?

You unplug the IACV and adjust the throttle screw. After you get your idle set (550rpm on a d16z6) you leave the IACV unplugged and you reset your ECU, Turn off the car and undo the negative cable for 30-60 seconds.
Plug back in the IACV and attach that negative cable.
Now your idle should be higher than what you set it at (550 unplugged = 750 plugged in)

Hey i got sort of a similar problem too. Except when my car is idling, i push on the brakes a couple of times and my rpm's go up about 1400rpm's than back to normal at 750. What could that be?
