idle jumping up and down??

The idle on my buddys civic jumps up and down from 1 to 2 grand.. When u shut the car off and listen too the motor you can hear a sucking sound as the car shuts off.. I think its a vacum leak and the codes come up as a TPS sensor.. Could this be a vacum leak thats makeing the TPS sensor come up on the codes or is the TPS sensor dead?? and does anyone have a chart on all the vacum hoses?? any help would be helpful.. Thanks!!

if you have an aftermarket intake then that is probably the sucking noise when you turn off the car.and it is very possible that it is a vacum leak

there should be a vacuum diagram on the underside of the hood

well check the voltage at the TPS. It should be 0.5v at closed throttle and 4.5 at wide open throttle.

its not just a faulty sensor, have fun paying $600+ if you want a new one, gotta buy a whole throttle body

Well I wouldn't need to replace the entire throttle body, some makes the TPS was removeable. But if it's not I am sure I am pick a good used one up for way less then that and clean it up abit.

or PM themodfather and see if he has your application. I am gettin one from him for $30.
But spray some carb cleaner on all of the vacuum lines and the throttle body gasket and intake manifold gasket, if the idle raises you have found the leak, if not then check the voltage in the TPS sensor before you go replacing it.
Also, check the IACV (idle air conrtol valve) its on the back of the intake manifold. Check the FITV (fast idle thermo valve) its on the bottom of the throttle body, check the PCV in the intake manifold, check the IAT (Intake Air Temperature sensor) its on the manifold as well. These are all common causes of a rough idle.
