I need some help!!!
hey guys
I m hoping someone can help me out . I have a 2000 honda civic , it has 150 k , I think my clutch needs to be changed!!. I wanna know how much it s a fair price to pay to change the clutch or if there is a way to get a clutch tune up (if there is such a thing ). It s my first standard car so I don't know much about standards. Also what are symptons that would tell you if your clutch needs to be replace ?? .. any help would be welcomed ! thanks!

if your clutch needs to be replaced, your car was prolly abused pretty badly.
a clutch can be changed for between $500-1000 depending on parts and where you go to have it done. it is pretty involved, a home mechanic could take 4-6 hours to change it, so it's def not cheap. if you go to a shop, they should be able to do it in about 3 hours tops.
parts range from about $100 to $600 depending on the clutch you choose. I would have to say get Honda OEM parts, esp since your car is relatively new.
clutch tune up, well, the only thing you can do is change the fluid in the clutch master cyl, and bleed the system. the rest is all self adjusting.
worn out clutch.... it feels like the engine revs fine, but the car isn't going anywhere. go to a used car lot and take another civic for a drive, it should give you an idea of what a civic clutch should feel like.
