I need an opinion on Hankook Tires
i am looking to get a set of hankook tires the Ventus Sport K104
it's Y rated and the size if 205/45/16.
has anyone ever used these or heard anything about them or hankook in general, do they make noise after a while, do they look ok?
and if you hate these do you have any other recomondations on tires that will cost me around 125 a tire. i can get these for that much.
thanks!

Had a set of Hankooks for about a year and half up until recently, although I had a different model (Ventus H101's). This model is an all season model and I had it on my stock EL rims in 205/50/15. Great tire for the money (picked them up for $400 installed), handled great in the dry and wet, and was still relatively acceptable in the snow. Not sure about the model you are looking at, but I would say they are comparable to the Kumho's in terms of cost and performance.

in that size, the Toyo T1-S is the best buy right now!!!!
I was gonna get Dunlop FM901s with my new rims, but I opted for Falken Azenis for their outrageous grip... the Dunlop was rated okay, but not spectacular.... Pirellis are overpriced for what you get

tiretrends.com - same place I bought my new rims at. The car is not yet being driven... I have to swap brakes, new swaybars, braces, and the alignment before I put the new tires on... don't wanna kill them too fast now I'll let you guys know....
A preliminary inspection:
the tire is heavy... it's very stiff sidewalled, and has large treads. It's rated A for rain traction, and the wear is 280 I think, so very very good... its asymetrical tread, but not directional. Looks very promising indeed

ok i'm looking to spend 125 tops on a tire, must be good in the rain and last a long time, i don't like ones that run our in less than two seasons.
thanks SW20 MR2 for your info,
and what other "no name" brand do you all recomend for summer tires?

If you are setting a price range like that with those qualities, go to Sears when they have a sale and hook up with some Bridgestone Weatherforce I think they are.... I got 4 for my dad's golf for like $450 installed and all. Last long and grip okay... his car is an all around vehicle... my daily driver has Motomaster on it (bought the car with brand new tires on it )

If you're looking for any type of performance whatsoever, then it is absolutely necessary to go with a "name brand" tire. If you just want longevity, then just do as Bruno suggested and go to Crappy tire, Walmart, or Sears.

LOL guys but i want to corner and minimize the play/drifting with a set of summer tires, i was quoted $150 for a set of perelli P7000...don't know nuch about them but it's a little to steap for me! but we will see..... i know you can't be tight with cash and expect great preformance parts so i have to settle for whatever i can afford.
