MY CIVIC IS GIVING PROBLEM :Please Reply Your Opinion & Ideas
Hey guys hows it going, i want your OPINIONS or IDEAS on a problem i have with my civic 1999 4 dr sedan, everyting is STOCK.
THE PROBLEM: While im dirving or at a stop light the car just SHUTS-OFF with no sound, i have narrowed it down to an electircal problem. The battery is new and working fine. What happens before the car shuts off is that while driving the KM needle will flicker up and down on its own. The problem was happening once a week now its happening everyday and also now its happening before i start my car. It just shuts off simple, NO NOISE. One clue that has been happening lately is that my GAS needle has been going down on sharp turns even if the car has a FULL TANK, the needle will drop close to EMPTY and when I am back on a straight the needle will slowly rise again. Also this could be my imagination but the problem happens more in WARM weather like TODAY, compared to COLDER days I WILL APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS THANK YOU |
check you altenator?? turn the car on take the negative terminal off.

i dont like unplugging electrical components when the car is running... let alone the battery. The current has to find ground somewhere.. and now you just took away its easiest path to ground.

I'm not saying anything bad will happen, all I said was i'm not a fan of people doing it. |
could it be the distributor????
|
extremely dirty trottle body cause be the reason... does it turn off after u let go off the gas pedal? or completely random?
ur gonna have to find a pattern to help narrow it down.. |
if its mostly on hot days it could be your main relay. look into that
