I need advise on Springs
I'm sure you all have heard of this question from newbie like I am.
I"m looking for lowering springs for my stock 98 Si shocks. I have a set of 17" rims on. What brand, model and how much should I spend on it to get a decent daily driving ride with a better look?
Thanks for you help

if yoru going for look then pick whatever fits your budget for the drop you want...
rant mode on
IMO IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH ONES YOU GET SINCE YOU'LL NEVER PUSH THEM TO THE LIMIT ON THE STREET AND IF YOU TRY TO YOUR TIRES WILL LOSE GRIP BEFORE THAT
rant mode off
seriously I might just be stressed because there's been no work at work today but I firmly believe that if you want looks you might as well just cut your stock springs. it's not going to matter. you'll never use them for performance! and if you do try out an autocross your tires will most likely let go before the springs even start to help.
there is nothing here about perforamnce at all becausde you want looks so it doesn't have to perform.

i've been deciding for along time to. an im drivin an ek aswell . if i do end up lowering this summer... i've narrowed my choices down. my num1 pick is h&r sports, bout a 1.5 drop. my 2nd choice...are neuspeed sports bout the same drop...
i've heard both excellent things about h&r and neuspeed springs and have been told 1.5 is a comfortable drop for daily driving.

Find a good deal from someone selling shocks and springs on this forum. If you see a deal check out the companies website. They usually have the specs there somewhere.
17" wheels + aftermarket springs + stock shocks = bye bye stock shocks!

All look, no track and no cash.... I took the advice of some people here and went with Suspension Techniques Sport springs 1.3 drop on stock shocks for now. Springs are real cheap, ride is like stock and the car looks mean perched lower on my gunmetal 17's..... so sweet!
Stock shocks may eventually blow, but if you're tight on cash, do it ..your 17's will thank you.

I like Neuspeed for springs. However I'd replace the shocks as soon as possible cause the stock shocks will blow and you'll bounce all over the road. Blown shocks suck.
However surf different companies web sites and read info. Asking a question like this will get many mixed responses.

I'd say it's worth the investment. Cutting springs can either induce death/injury if you do it yourself or the risk of having a trigger happy joe cut 'em for you not knowing what he's doing. In the end, he might charge you a bundle anyway.
Being cheap on the shocks I understand.

Well my budget isn't as low as the Tom's motorsport. I will definetly not get that.
The reason I said I want the springs for look is because, I can't afford a TEIN setup right now. Plus I drives a SOHC, what can you do about the performance if you don't put 4 turbo in it? A neon is gonna kick my *** anyway.

If we meet up this weekend, you can see my car with the H&R Sports. $250 is a really good deal. Thats the same as the members only price. Speedtech charged me $120 to install my first pair of springs.
