okay so i know where that clunkin noise is at.. i jacked up my car on the passenger side. i rotated the wheel and i listened to the clunk. it was the last metal rod that connect to the engine block.. what is it? is it the engine mount? is it broken? if possible i wanna find out myself, is it easy?

If one went, odds are the other isn't exactly in mint shape... I mean, one side goes before the other since most turns ppl make are actually right hand turns.. so one side takes more abuse. However, the other still gets worn. Check the boots first, see if that one side cracked, if so, and the other is okay, then you may take the chance cuz the failure was prolly due to lack of grease. IF the boot seems fine on both, then replace both since the wear was prolly due to stress.

So the boot went and it spit out all the grease.... right? Then you can just replace that side only and should be okay. Sometimes extremely lowered cars have CV joint alignment problems that lead to premature failure in both sides.

i've replaced cv joints in my drive way b4..
disconnect the lower control arm from the rotor assembly,.
tilt the rotor up so the cv joint comes out of the rotor..
pull the joint out of the tranny.
put the new one in.. might not fit easy.. might need to hammer it a little.
Just pay attention to how your taking it out.. goes in the same way..
process is easy, but taking off bolts that haven't moved in years and years can be a pain.. couple of wrenches, a pipe for extension and maybe a blow torch and yer set! heheh
your better off just gettin it done professionally unless your that broke.. cuz cv joints cost like $100 to buy anyways..
