its not from teh engine having too much torque... it from the engine "torque"ing on it too much. and engine with piles of torque shouldnt break mounts unless it's driven hard and causes the engine to bounce.

if you needed a new clutch and a mount i would assume that you have driven her hard and i would say that you should look at replacing them all at once and consider solid mounts. even if you ordered stock then some urethane can do the rest....

just to correct your mechanic though..the amout of torque put out by the engine and the amout of torque that is applied to the mounts are not directely related (though a higher output engine will require more of a mount to stabilize it due to it's higher sensitivity to the driver). the torque that is placed on the mounts is usally from sloppy shifting and poor engagement of gears.

sorry to hear about that

Old news. hehe j/k

He changed the clutch cause he wanted some real performance. Although, maybe you do have some sloppy shifting there skippy

j/k man.

Yeah why didn't you get some poly ones since you're changing it anyways?

I just rode in this car this week and it's a really nice ride. Matt knows his shiznit. Keep up the good work buddy.

i don't believe there is an aftermarket urethane available as yet, so the trade up wouldn't appear possible at this time..

i've been watching for that shyt..
first time i see a full kit available i'm all over it like Jason on an opportunity to post..

in all honesty you cant go wrong wiwth store bought but at the same time doing yoour own solid mounts can make for a great mods for next to no money and only a little time..

i did mine in my celica and found it to be a HUGE diffrnece for gears dropping into place and the extra vibration didnt even make that much of a diffrence

it looked like a perfect time for a homemade urathane mount...window weld + new stock mount = new solid urathane filled mount!

click me!

I've seen a guy lathe down some pucks or were they skateboard wheels or sumthin? for custom mounts...he said that they were really really solid and u could feel the difference inside the car
