How well does the New Si handle compared to the DC2R?

You just opened a can of worms with this thread.

To be honest, there is probably one a couple in Toronto that have driven a real JDM ITR and an 8th gen Si. Your best bet is to search for articles and reviews by proven journalists.

I've driven a new Si and a Type S. IMO from the short drives I had, the Si handles better then the S. The Si has LSD, better tires and a re-designed/upgraded version of the Macpherson strut suspension that the S has.

DC5R has more power, LSD, bigger brakes and probably a stiffer suspension all around.

DC2-ITR was a production race car with an affordable price tag, near 50/50 corner weight with a driver that's close to 150lbs, fine tuned suspension work.

8th gen Si, I doubt it.

That's what I was thinking.

Put them in neutral and push em down a street luge course...lol I bet the ITR would be much better.

ITR is the grittier car. Rawer and grippier.

Remember the 97 ITR had no AC, no Moon Roof, stripped down sound insulation.

8th Gen Si is lots of fun and plenty quick, but a much more refined car and more comfortable ride.

I thought he meant the RSX version. D'oh!

plus, it looks like a minivan!!!! hahahah... the dc2 looks pimp... i always see one near my boy's work and it has one yellow light in the front... it has a conversion i am sure, but i wonder whats under the hood...

i bet i could take it...
anyone have some off the line numbers on the new 06 si? like 0-100km/hr and quarter mile and stuff?

rsx version is called DC5 Michael, DC2s are integra type :D

a type-r will run laps around a 8th gen si, simple as that

lol this question should even be posted.
we are talking about a track ready car compared to a fast grocery getter.


edit: what you also have to remember is that all production R models where made with one thing in mind TRACK/RACE that being said they arent even the same as the other trims in the same bodyshape.

but I would tend to think the ITR would take the new Si, but its not like it would be a drastic win....

i seen a video along time ago of an itr beating a skyline in a togei race. i dont think the si will be much of a challenge.

yea i have a dvd from best motoring on type R, i think its called "the leagend of type R" and they shows how, engine internals are totally diffrent then normal engine, and they are doing race challenges against other cars etc, its prety cool dvd.

They pinpoint the weight being a huge factor.

There's that video of the ITR competeing in the JDM 2.0L Turbo class endurance race.

The RX-7 caught up on the last lap or two.

The ITR beat Imprezas, MR2s, Silvias, 3000gt (i think), etc...and did it with a N/A 1.8L engine while the rest were all turbo 2.0L.

There is a review of it in today's Star.
The review says it has a 2.4L engine :crazy: .

Actually, too bad tcc wasn't in that review, instead it was clubsi. He went to one of their meets with it and talks about their club for a bit. Would have been good to see tcc get that kind of coverage.

And there is no doubt in my mind that DC2R > 06 Si.
