that's a great link, but in skimming through it, I noticed the oil feed is sketched the wrong way... not entirely wrong, just a little bit ... or rather not WRONG, but it could be improved upon.

OMFG, the japanese have nearly NEVER used NPT or BSPT or any other pipe thread on a car. Using a 1/8 NPT fitting on a Honda block is a god damn crime. The thread size for the oil press sensor on the Honda block is M10x1.0. That's why it's best to use the Golden Eagle oil plate like me

it's really not Mike... the thread count is very close between the two, and the thread will conform... but it doesn't make it right.

I know, cuz I've put M10x1 fittings into 1/8 BSPT tees, and it fits... still doesn't mean it's right, cuz one is tapered, the other is straight.

again, the Japanese have NEVER used pipe thread on an auto application. Look at brake hoses for example, oil fittings on turbos, and coolant lines on turbos. I've spent many many days tracing the correct threads and fittigns from Earl and Russell

1/8 npt shouldn't go on your motor it does but it shouldn't
the honda threads have one extra thread/inch on it

B when we gonna finish all the lines and mani's?

Kyle on the net??? ^^^ I never thought I'd see the day again!

I got a collector for the manifold, and the lines we can do anytime, it's no big deal. Gotta start thinking about charge pipes and exhaust solutions... plus now I need an external wastegate too. BTW, the damn T-clamps are $10USD each *faint*

t off the back of the block..
using 1/8th bsp is fine. just make sure you use some gasket maker or soemthing.

this is a good way to do it since that area isnt the strongest and will break over time with a big "T" hanging off of it

I'll say this one last time... anyone who likes their car, and likes an oil-free driveway would be wise to use this:

Threads are Metric

BBarbulo is right. I learnt this the hard way. Then, some older machinist taught me about the many variations of the metric threads. The use of NPT on a civic! NO WAY. Even BSPT is a no no. Civics are Japanese metric, and a particular one at that. Not even British nor german metrics work perfectly. Sure they will all "fit" in if forced but shame shame... Firsthand he ran his test measuring tool to show me the slight differences in thread size, pitch, etc.,
If you think thats normal, then I'm willing to bet your toolbox is full of plumbers wrenches and needle nose pliers!

Hearing this reminds me of the time I almost puked when I saw a "honda mechanic" install new spark plugs on a civic with an pnuematic impact gun.

thanks johnny23toronto... ppl think I talk outta my *** I guess but I spent like...4 months researching the thread sizes on my block and turbo and then tracking down the right fittings. I ended up buying Earl's fittings everywhere where it mattered.
