how to remove wheel locks?!?!
I tried to remove the wheel locks today but the key just stripped the rusted pattern in the lock. Does anyone know how i can remove the lock without damage to the wheel.
Lesson learned here.....don't buy wheel locks from Walmart !!!!!
I called Central Repair Shop (good ole 24/7 repair shop in Hamilton) and they said that it would cost $75 straight time, so for however long it takes for them to do or possibly not do and damage the rim and get fed up 2 hrs later and still charge me. So i don't feel so good about takin it there but there aren't too many other places to go on saturday night of a long weekend.

zeeman, go to canadian tire and pickup one of those extract it tools, its the new one they have for stripped bolts, find the smallest one that will fit, hammer it on the wheel nut a little, and remove it, they work great, because they have teeth that dig in as you reverse the nut/bolt..

This is a picture i have its not really of the lock but u can see it in the picture. My dad took off with the camera for the weekend so this will have to do.
Red90dx i think that my dads got one of those....comes in a set of like 5 or 10. Yeah, my bro bought it for him for xmas i think. I will go try that. Thanks.
The lock is rather awkward and large....well i guess the pic will explain it.

I just tried your idea Red90dx but it didn't work. It just stripped the inside of the pattern (see pic above), so now the inside part of the lock is just round. Do they make anything like this but in a larger scale b/c i don't think a drill would be strong enough to turn a lug nut.

i'm not sure if you used it properly... those links are both going no where btw...
you dont want the "screw remover" you want the "BOLT remover" it will grab the outter edge of the lug and with enough motivation start turning it... ideally if you have an impact gun that'd do it hte best

link doesnt quite work. the same thing happened to my lock, what we did was we took the key for the wheel lock, anjd hammered that back on over the wheel lock, then we very carefully took it off. i dunno if thatll work 4 u but its wortha shot!

It is possible to buy wheel nut/lock extracter tools (Mac Tools). We have a set. Most decent tire shops should also have them. Like the previous post says. Go to a shop that is properly equipped. Put your money on the counter. Problem solved!

Yeah....i used an impact gun with the "extract it" from crappy tire but had no luck. None of the "extract it"'s fit over the whole lock only over the middle part.
I ended up taking my car to crappy tire (they were the only place open on sunday and my last resort since like 3 other shops refused to even try cause they didn't want to damage the rim) and they had a big enough extract it to work. And they didn't even damage the rim. Crappy tire to the rescue....wow i am sure not too many people have said that. lol

they (crappy tire) used a professional "extract it" like the one they sell but way better. It cost $36. Worth every penny. I now took the 17's off and put the 15's on. Ohhh how i missed sidewall. I know its not much more but its there.
After puttin so much money and effort into my car I didn't really want some stupid theive to be attracted to my car by some fancy 17's. My car's pretty much all go and no show 15's just fit that theme a little better.
Can anyone suggest some good 205/50/15's used mainly for street but the ocasional trip to the drag strip. I'm thinkin Falken Azenis but worried they wear out too fast for a daily driver. Maybe Yokohama es100's?

actually i've seen a guy remove the factory 1.6 el ones and he basically used an over sized socket that just slightly too small to go over the lock and hammer it in until its about half on then use a ratchet and an extention pipe to remove it
