how much would mini me buildup be?
how much would i be looking at to get a mini me built?
and what is involved?
i was thinking:
d16z6 head
d16y8 headgasket
d16a1 pistons
d15b7 bottom end
what is invovled in building this sort of engine up?
i was thinking of originally just replacing my oil burning d16z6 motor but the mini me swap might be a better consideration.

YOU DONT NEED THE PISTONS just use the ones in whichever SOHC non-vtec motor ..
The parts you have (I assume are in good running condition)
D16Z6 SOHC VTEC motor
SI 5-speed tranny
For the mini me you need:
D15 or D16Y7 SOHC non-vtec motor (complete is better to find)
cost is about under $525 cdn
no transmission, Sensors or ECU needed from the SOHC non-vtec motor
D16Y8 Head Gasket
and now all you need is to transfer the VTEC head, intake manifold, ECU..etc from your D16Z6 motor and bolt them onto your SOHC non-vtec block..
For assurance get a new oil and water pump for the D16Z6 motor..
Simply put everything is bolt on and its very affordable, you can find SOHC non-vtec motors easily on this board..
A note about any SOHC non-vtec motor, get one with any milage, your re-building it anyways, so the higher the cheaper
Oh and I see on your site you wanted an CAI intake, dont spend a **** load on an AEM, go with a Generic CAI intake tube and a large K&N filter and that equals an AEM for half the cost..

im just trying to research
cause i wouldnt do any of the install or buildup myself, cause i only know how to do body work and some audio when it comes to cars.
i need an exact price of the buildup then the install so i can see if i can budget it easily, also need to know hidden fees, like, ill probably need new water pump, timing belt, etc. all the small stuff.

Well, neilff, if you get the VTEC head and the parts, I can build the engine for you.
You will need:
VTEC head
96-00 VTEC head gasket (raises compression)
VX cam pulley
VX timing belt
And my D15 of course.
Before the head is thrown on there, maybe do a little porting as well.
A bonus is that the D15 bottom end lasts forever.

where would i get a vx belt and pulleys also the headgasket?
also, would the complete install and final product be under $2000? cause i can just replace my oil burner with a new engine for under $1400 for a d16z6 with labour etc. etc.

Under $2000?! Uhhhh, yeah...it'll be under $2000.
Call the wreckers for the head(get a warranty). Yours may need new valve seals.
Go to Honda for the timing belt, pulley, head gasket.
It is what I call a low cost build.

at honda they use the same head gasket from 1988 to 2000 for every d series motor d16 , d15 , y8,y7 ,b2 they are all the same its messed up its 80 dollars for a head gasket and 81 dollars for a whole kit exhaust gasket head gasket bunch of nuts and oil seals for both top and bottom of spark plug holes and a big ring that i couldn't figure out what it was for !!!!!!!nothing looked that big
anyway its starting to upset me that i keep seeing peole want to use a d16y8 head gasket cuz its no different than a 88 d15b2 head gasket to honda and as far as im concerned honda makes quality parts for quality engines cdn tire makes trash to make money half the time its wrong doesnt work
thats just one mans opinion

i do not think there is too much of a difference cuz there is only .25 cc per cylinder i think they might get it out of the stroke or maybe head clearance ? i dunno and a d16y8 is the most powerful head and most smartest chouce 105hp to 127 hmm good deal lol

mini me if you know ppl with shops you can probably do the build for under 1000, and thats with a new cam. Try and find ZC pistons, they have a larger dome than the tegs which will raise your compression even more.
