yeah my **** spun a bearing on the dyno. I still haven't taken apart to block yet. I should go do that soon..

anyways.. at 4 psi it made 132whp? and 130wtq. Then on the next run it spun a rod bearing. I believe it was a mix of a long hwy drive +10w30+ a few pulls on the dyno that made the oil way too thin. I shoulda ran 10w40 or even 5w50 cause it was june.

but yeah i wasn't planning on a hf mani setup. just a log or something. i figured i'd get all the parts i need for now. and when the time comes to upgrade, i'll get a new turbo, mani, etc. and the built motor. so the things i'm losing out on is the turbo which was free, a tune, a cheap log, down pipe and possibly injectors depending on how much i want to push.
DONT USE AN HF MANIFOLD!

Bah.. don't be a homemade ***. The oil return lines on a hf mani setup will have a pretty nice curve to it, it could resist the flow of the oil to drain (which is one of the most important things on a turbo setup). Just get a used log manifold for like 150-200$ You won't regret it. And it looks 20 times better. And with an hf manifold the comp. wheel has to face the driver side (so no room for an air filter) and there is no block/turbo clearance so fitting vacuum lines and coolant lines will be a *****. Trust me, hf manifolds are horrible to work with.

Not everyone is made of money and can afford to go "all out" to build it 100%.

If your building a daily driver turbo and it needs to be reliable....then yes, do it right and spend the money, I agree there.

But for a weekend warrior beater....I'm not gonna empty my pockets for a car worth $2....lol.

so why buy a cheap part that you'll have to replace within a few weeks? Might as well spend a few extra bucks initally then spend it after your ****ty kit takes a dump on you.
