How much to drop?

Hi All

I have a 2000 Honda Civic SE (4 door). I have 17 inch rims with 205/40R tires. What is a good drop? 1 1/2 or 2 inch? Would I need a camber kits?

Let me know if you need any more info.

camber kits are always beneficial. while it will be a minimal change wiht a 1.5 drop. you might as well. saves money on tires later.

dont drop any more than 2"

you can do the camber trick for the back tires and with such a little drop its not really worth it imho

You'll be at around -3 degrees camber after you lower 1.5 - 2"

I would recommend a camber kit for the rear. I think OEM tolerances are -1 to -3 degrees, though.

Just get it aligned for 0 toe and the -2.5 degree's of camber can actually help handling. do the washer trick in the rear or contact John Lo at optionjdm for Omni skim kit.

drop it as much as you like. some people like 1" while others like 3"...its subjective

1.5" with no camber correction. If your like me and enjoy taking corners hard the little bit of neg camber will help handling as stated above.

I like 2 inches, esp if you roll on 17s.
