sorry, I may just be reading this wrong.

But what do you mean when you say if they supplied the parts?

If you mean how much it would cost to just get a b16a2 head.. I recommend just searching through the forums, I'm sure you'll find one.

well b16 heads go for $250-500 depending on which generation it is. And you would need a new headgasket ($80), vtec oil feed line and fittings ($100), vtec conversion dowel pins or machine the head to fit the bigger dowel pins ($60) or you can buy the Golden Eagle vtec conversion kit which includes everything u need (as listed above) for around $300 US. Its well worth it if you ask me.
Look to spend anywhere from $300-800 for labour.
You will also need to wire up vtec and get your ecu modded for vtec or buy a vtec ecu (pr3, p30, p72, p73).
Realistically i would say be prepared to spend AT LEAST $1000, and thats if you get the head for cheap and cheap labour. There is much more involved in building a ls/crvtec than just putting a vtec head on, but i am not going to get into that b/c its been covered a million times, so you should search so you can know what you are in for.

The title says ls/vtec but the thread author states he owns a b20. LS is b18b/a. And I'll post some good links in a few minutes about ls/b20 vtec builds.

EDIT: Andrew, I know that was a rough/brief explaination but I thought it throw in the things you missed.

You need to tap the old oil supply hole in your head, you should also get arp rod bolts and in the future if you plan on upgrading your cams, I recommend you either clay the engine for clearance or if you have a LS block get p30 (b16a2) pistons. p30 pistons will up your C/R and you don't have to worry about clearance.

here's a bunch of links for ya...

H-T links

Enjoy reading

Send LEITNER an e-mail. Search for his post in the perf/susp section.

As far I know CR/VTEC as it is called is a little more intensive to get some serious power out of because of the low compression that B20 has. You'll custom pistons to make big power...I think.

There are a couple of affiliates that do swaps, you can call them or do a search on what others have done or paid.
