How much to convert.
After awhile of very thought out deciding, im just goign to keep our car. No sense in sellign it cause its been great to us and I know the history of it etc.
So wana convert it to manua. its a 1994 civic LC auto, but the one condition that I wana eep it is do an SI engine swap (d16y8) etc and convert to manual.
How much would this conversion go for, and how long do they usualy take? I have a week off of school in october, and would want to do it that week providing i have my money all saved up.
thanks.

matt good call on keping the car. i'm a little disappointed though that your not gettig a fourth gen but i'll get over it. not sure on the cost but if your swaping engine and tranny it shouldn't be much more than a regular swap. did you call rt or ksr?

Im gonna be ripping out the back seats and putting my system back there, so it sholdn't be that bad. Weight reduction and an SI motor in a LX, cant wait.

Hey Matt,
I talked to Ken (KSR) a while back about just doing a tranny swap (auto to manual) and he said it would be over a grand.. If you're looking for an Si swap, call Ken and tell him that if someone comes in and swaps out their Si engine for something else, to keep it and put a deposit on it..
My best guess would be that the Si swap would be cheaper than a tranny swap since it'll just be someone else's garbage (potentially), whereas a tranny alone would require searching and finding a matching ECU etc, etc..
Best of luck dude!

I would think it would be easier to swap in a D16Z6 as opposed to the D16Y8, as your car is already OBDI and the D16Y8 would mean converting to OBDII, which would mean alot more wiring.
