how many kms on your D15Y7 ????

how long do these engines last? how strong are they?

imported_gatherer 12-Sep-2005 03:59 PM

Depends.. do you mean last as in regular calm daily driving?

or last as in with all the proper maintenance done to it? (as opposed to not ever changingt he oil or anything)

or last as in with a 2000 shot of nitous or 50 lbs of boost???

or last as in daily driven and weekend raced?

you have to define the parameters...

good maintenance and regular driving.......no red lining

300,000kms no problem....probably way more.
I've seen some pretty high km's on honda engines. My buddy had 340,000 MILES on his civic, thats close to 1/2 million kms.

I had a d15b7 that went well over 600, 000 km. It still ran like a champ when it came out of the car. Burned barely any oil, 1/4 quart over 5000 km.

The odometer on the car stopped working at about 532,000. And that was about 2 years before I even owned the car. I bought it from my ex's uncle, he used it for deliverys for DHL.

I have since changed engines and the dash, so everything is way off, haha.
