How long do energy suspension bushings last?

OEM bushings are rated to 100K

Does anyone actually KNOW how long Energy Suspension Bushings last?

imported_zc_hatch 01-May-2004 09:45 PM

Forever...your car will rust and fall apart and the bushings will be all thats left:p

They are resistant to chemical , and wont break down...

Actually if you race on these, they will get loose on you. People will replace these once a year or not use them at all, because they do develop some serious slop if you're hard on them. Unfortunately there's not much else out there unless you want to cut your own nylon or solid bushings.

I recently heard something similar and that why I posed the question.

I'm looking for someone with personal experience using ES bushings.

One fella, who I know, said that he went through 2 sets of ES bushings in 1 season. he said they just crumbled.

Mind you this fella car is driven hard and used for numerous Solo1 and Solo2 events.

More EDUCATED responses please.

I have an entire kit installed on my car just waiting for the engine and coil overs and then i will be able to tell you as i will be running the car out at mosport and then in slalom's so we will see how they hold up

Well, you just said you got personal experience with your friend. I've seen it happen and I've chosen not to install my set which sits in my basement, for just this reason.

Anyway, if you want more experienced opinion, go to the "Road Racing/Autocross" forum on honda-tech.com There's plenty of bushing discussion there.

Thanks Mark :)

I have been told that after a 100k of hard driving, the ES bushings will feel like stock honda bushings. There should be no reason for bushing to fall apart after a year of racing (corrosive lubricant? - maybe ball joints?). Plus, how many miles could you realistically afford on the track - 2000km?. I know guys who regularly track/race their cars and have had ES bushings, Prothane trailing arm and compensator arm bushings, etc. for multiple seasons now and their suspension is still rock solid.

like bbarbulo stated - you'll get a lifetime out of them.
