I know that, I want some thing that will go at least 240 or so. Remember there are no speed limits in germany!!! The highway speed limit is fun on the on ramp. Remember take the on ramp speed reccomendation, double it and add thrity kms!! thats the rule!! Seriously though, how fast do they go? Im getting off a bike that does mid 9s in the quarter and tops out over 300k, I know that buying a car that does that kind of speeds is crazy dollars, I heard that civics are pretty fast for the money

Top speed, I really don't know. But I think over 220 should be doable. As for 1/4 mile, a Civic can brake into 9 second range but like you said, it is crazy dollar. To upgrade a Civic that can handle and perform quite well and doing about high 12 seconds, I say something around 50G CDN could do it.

I am throwing numbers in the air, just take it with a grand of salt.

I think you misunderstood, I dont want to spend 50k if so I would buy a fast car stock. I wanted to know and 220k is good. I drive fast usually and if it can take 180k daily then that would be fine. Now is there different models, may have more power. I am not really interested in doing performance mods, just to have some fun on the on ramps and the race tracks.

lol it won't cost you 50G to make a 12 second civic...there's guys that have d-series turbo's running 12's...well i guess it might cost alot for the reliability aspect of it...but just to hit 12's on a drag strip is nowhere near 50G

Is it just me or does he sound like a troll or an idiot? People like him going 200+ causing our insurance rates to rise, giving hondas and people who mod cars a bad name, and worst of all killing some innocent people

I am not sure that you have read the post, i dont want to modify the car. So why would that give a modifed civic a bad name. What, doesnt everyone speed? And now someone is calling me a terrible driver? And a troll, idiot? You havent even met me, why would going 180-200 kms on the highway going to work and back cause innocent people to die? If you cant handle the car at speed, then maybe you should stay off the highways, try the school zones first, that is a 40k zone, once you get to know the vehicle enough maybe your parents will let you upgrade to the 50km zones. But not untill you have eaten all of your vegtables!!!! And its not the speeders who make rates go up it is fraud and theft. I havent gotten a real speeding ticket in a bout 11 years now and 240km is a daily occurance (on the bike of course)and that is shifting out of third. All I asked was how fast are civics. Now that I know that it will probably suffice, then I think I may pick one up and for the guy who called me a troll or an idiot, I have been on almost every road course in ontario and wasted many tanks of gas and lots and lots of tires to be able to handle the car at speed Im sure Ill be fine. but thanks for your concern.

ok you ra complete moron you want to take a 100 hp car to 240 km/h with stock everything...hahaha good luck trying to stop/get up to speed that speed is so unsafe in a old stock honda......you want to go that fast on city streets your a idiot but for sake of arguement it's a grcery getting not meant for that speed unless you modify it....springs shocks, good brake pads, wheels and good tires that is the minimum to maek it safe and handle high speed...then maybe swap the motor so it doesnt' take goign down hill for 20 miutes to get to over 180 km's/h

Get a AWd talon so you can go faster than your r6 a awd talon wiht jsut good tires and a act 2600 clutch will pull your r6 huge off the line threw 1st...add some well placed mods and it will run low 13's upgrade the turbo and run 11's and beat your r1.....get a dsm if you want some speed and massive accelleration (awd)

and 200 km'/h on a r6 is way different than in a stock honda...you can stop way faster and move aroudn fast and fit in small gaps etc with a bike so...oh ya you will wind up dead with this kind of attitude seeing how an r1 is retarded fast and you lack disiplin and any skill and think your mad tite fast speed makes you a GP racer....well you got alot to learn about handling a motorcycle at high rates of speed, and to do that you need to ride on a track and taek her to the limit's....any person who has been riding for years won't go 240 km'/h on city streets and brag... I have rode bikes since I started walking and now a thing or 2 about gogin fast and knowing how handle a bike...any doouche can hold down a throttle carelessly but what if a car pulls out infront of you and then like a newb you lock the front wheel...or you pull a wheelie and wobbl out cause you have no idea how to balance your weight.

I like to see you drive 240 lm/h and not get yoru license taken away or kill someone, track adn teh street are way different an old lady turnign out or chanign lanes does not exist on a track nor does opposing traffic and intersections....take it to the track and keep in there

One thing I gotta say is if you gonna take a stock Civic on the ramp doing double ramp speed + extra 30 km, the car will give out no matter what kinda tire you have. For stock, the car might reach that speed if you give it time, but for corner, it won't handle at such high speed.

was the kind of advice I was looking for. if you want a stock car to do that dont buy a civic. That was All I was looking for. As for the guy telling me that I have an r6 and dont know how to ride it and I should learn how to do wheelies. First of all I am not bragging, I thought that it was normal to go fast. As for taking it to the track, If you know anything about motorcycles on a pretty much stock r1 with an ohlins shock and front end done with an ohlins damper my fastest time was 1:30 point somthing at mosport last year on used tires and my longest ever wheelie was 1.2km at 185km steady, so dont tell me i cant ride a bike. Why must you say that I lack disiplin and skill. You dont know me or anything. I dont go crazy speeds all the time, I am not stupid. Why must you insult me if you have been ridding a bike forever then you know that 240 is a very managable speed with the proper set up. crusing is like 180. I have driven in north america and europe and why no speed limits there. I drove 2300 km in three days not dipping below 160km and that was the flow of traffic. I know that the traffic is different there but why insult me when you know nothing about me except that I want to buy a car that goes fast stock. so on that note, I will say no more on the subject except please dont insult others with no info. So please offer your advice and not an insult thx to those who did answer my question

Oh that too. If you happen to be in Europe in the future, pick up a 6th gen Type R and just beef up the handling work a bit. B16B ain't no motorcycle engine but it will scream quite well.

Drive safe and enjoy

If in Germany -just buy a BMW - you get your need for speed, plus they are designed explicitly for what you request.

I've done 220kph - '83 GS 1000 w/Yoshimura 1100 kit. Damn fast. Very damn fast. I'm too old for that sh@t now...

a few things:

1) Stock a civic tops out at 190.... the ECU does not let it go any faster.....

2) you need a nice down hill section to even remotely get it close to that the aerodynamic wall is around 160

3) The car is not designed for that speed and will be very difficult to control

and thats it for a stock civic... so if your in germany then this next question doesn't apply and should be ignored but if your in Canada then please read and respond:

why do you want to that much faster then the speed limit at those speeds being caught (and they will dedicate a helicopter to catching you) will result in a lost of license (right away) a loss of car (right away) and a trip in the back of a cruiser (right away) no court no judge, of course you do get your day in court but till then you get toi try out public transit... so why go that fast?
