How do you know.....
..when
1) your cat needs to be replaced?
2) your resonator needs to be replaced?
3) your muffler needs to be replaced?
Looking for actual physical signs
Thanks.

and i believe when your muffler has leaking, it will have some ****ty nasty loud annoying sound... you should notice the difference immediately, that's when your exhaust is too rusted, has a hole, or leaking --> need replacement as far as i know
and for cat, when you failed etest haha.... otherwise, i hardly look into it on purpose...
and for resonator, i need to read some other's input too =)

any exhaust component has failed when it has a leak in it. depending on the muffler, some aftermarket ones 'fail' when the fiberglass lining blows out. resonators fail when it rattles or when it has a hole. cats can get clogged or otherwise become inefficient, and only an emissions test, or a check engine light indicating a discrepency btwn the front and rear O2 sensors can tell you that. Otherwise the cat is mounted on the header in the car, so it's more or less a permanent fixture. if you have your stock header still, it may have cracked btwn the # 2 and 3 runners.
