How do I raise/ lower my car?

Ok I have coilovers on my car...is it possible to lower my car more myself?? If so how do I do it??

the coilover kit should've came with special wrenches. what kit is it?

yes, they did come with special wrenches...its a Matrix kit

so how do I know if I've lowered it evenly with the other tires? I'm not really sure what I'm doing

the only way to properly do this is with scales...

if your not concerned with handling just measure the wheel gap on all wheels and make htem hte same

yes with scales....

lower to desired hieght then corner wiegh it out to balance again .... ever wonder how those bouncey rises come to be with coilovers the answer is because of the lack of using corner wieghing (well it's a big part of the over all reason)

to adjust use the allen key that came with your coilovers, remove wheel then loosen and turn to desiered leveel to set to desired height, tighten and put wheel back on

ok thanks for the feedback so far, is it going to cause major damage to my car if i lower my car furthur without scales?? thats my major concern

here's a stupid question. What are the "scales" you're using to measure them? I only measure the wheel gap and make sure they're all the same.

scales are for corner weighing...

just count the threads, or measure with a precision ruler from the bottom of the sleeve to the bottom of the collar.

If you count the number of threads on the coilover the car is going to sit lower on the side than the other due to the weight of the tranny. At least thats the problem I had so I just measured the amount of wheel gap. My advise is to get rid of your coil overs (unless they are "real")and go with lowering springs. Coilovers beat the shitr out of your struts. They blow...

like a set... the shocks and coilover is sold as a single unit... meaning they are properly matched and such

My friend from keswick told me you get three fat people to sit on your hood while you take a torch to your springs and heat them up real hot they shrink my other friend from keswick said take the stock springs out and take a hack saw to them these both work good since all of them have done it to there cavaliers and sunbirds

if you heat the springs they will creak... and nobody likes that... and cutting springs is not good either cause you'll not only susp. travel but the spring rate will drop as well

although if this was done on sunbirds of cavaliers they obviously aren't looking for performance.... not only when purchasing these cars but when making a hack of there suspension

okay I have 4.3 inch ground clearance now....is that still going to ruin my suspension, and ball joints etc.?????

nothing up here in newmarket we see alot of beaters and stuff we all call them keswick work cars like everyone does fuct stuff like dryer vent for CAI spring cutting and heating up i seen a car a beretta actually with a piece of pipe with an allens apple juice can welded to the end of it painted blue using it as a muffler tip like come on
