How to change fuel filter/rotor/distributor 98 civic

I want to replace the fuel filter, rotor and dist cap on my 98 civic EX and am wondering how difficult it is. Is it simply a matter of unscrewing the various components and screwing in new ones?

Don't want to run to a mechanic if I can do it myself.
Thanks

Yeah everything is pretty simple.

1. Cap and rotor is fairly simple. Just make sure you put the sparkplugs wires back on correctly.

2. Fuel filter could bit a bit of pain. ie. rusted bolt on the bracket.
Make sure you have a bunch of rags around the lines to help prevent the fuel from getting everywhere. Install new copper washers!!!

Also when your done changing the fuel filter check for leaks afterwards. It would suck making a fire claim on your insurance.

Everything is pretty staright forward. If you not 100% sure of yourself you could always download a manual (there's a link on tcc somewhere) or $20 @ Cdn Tire for an Haynes manual.

everything is a matter of unscrewing off various components and screwing in new ones... even a clutch. how good are you at unscrewing things?

if your doing your fuel filter. try to use line wrenches. i think u need a 12mm and a 14mm for the bolts under the filter. very easy to do.

starboy.. I don't like using the copper washers that come in A/F kits.. it comes from the factory with aluminum washers and I have always re-used those. Either way, i've seen people use the copper washers with no probs, i'm just throwing my .02

anyways.. with the fuel filter try to get your hands on a 14mm line wrench for the fuel line nut, they tend to be a bit rusty and open ended wrenches like to slip and strip.

If your near Oakville I'd gladly show you how to do these things after work or something..

Oh and when your done everything.. make sure to prime your system by just turning the key to ACC and off a few times..
